| I have told all my friends and family about Ron Paul. I have told them who he is and why they should vote for him. I talk about Ron Paul with my girlfriend so much that she is ready to drop kick me if I mention his name again. Being of the younger generation and no avid follower of politics, I have been asked by friends and family, "Why are you suddenly so adamant in your support of this Presidential candidate?" Let me explain to you why I am so passionate. Unlike some of the Congressman’s supporters, I am not so short sighted as to believe that "Ron Paul is our last hope!" No, I believe that this country has a lot of good people and people can make differences in the world, both small and large. But I do firmly believe that right now, in our little moment in history, Ron Paul, while not our last hope, is certainly our best hope. The man stands for everything that all red blooded, God fearing, freedom-loving Americans should and do believe in. He takes positions of limited government, anti-war, anti-deficit, and anti-entitlements. He is not cut and run, is opposed to corporatism, and he supports your right and mine to earn a good living and provide for our families. Ron Paul wants you to have the tools you need to make your life the one you have dreamt about. He is for keeping big brother's hand and eyes out of your business and out of your pocket, and giving you the opportunity at the American dream - yes, the nice house with the picket white fence, lush green lawn, a chicken in the pot and two cars in the garage. Most importantly, he desires to protect and preserve the foundation up which the American dream is built – liberty, rule of law, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom from over-burdening taxes, and the absolute right to protect your freedoms - with arms if necessary! To those who would chose to stray away from the restraints of our Constitution, to those who advocate endless entitlements and de-facto socialism, be warned: you can give a man a fish and feed him for a day or you can teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. The masses fed by entitlements are growing and getting hungrier by the minute. When will the current establishment realize that eventually those of us who know how to fish will be struggling to feed ourselves and our families? Facts are facts, and we can't keep up with the burgeoning entitlement programs. Eventually they will come back to bite us. This entitlement monster leaves
an ever increasing debt in its wake. The federal budget is like a child
with daddy's credit card. The rampant spending is sending this country
headlong into financial disaster and nobody is doing anything about it.
Well, nobody besides Ron Paul and a few patriotic others who understand
that this spending is at odds with maintaining our standard of living.
Credit has its limit and sooner or later daddy will not be able to pay
the bills. Clearly, the issue of fiscal responsibility goes beyond domestic
entitlement programs. When is the Iraq War and its promised "spoils
of war" going to pay for itself? The amount of money that the government
collects in individual income tax each year is roughly equivalent to the
amount of interest that we have to pay on the National Debt every year.
Anyone that has ever had a credit card knows that spending money that
you do not have is untenable. But this is something that our government
has failed to realize - and now they are trying to pay off one high-interest
credit card with another. This consistency and integrity are what make Ron Paul special. Unlike the rest of the front-runner media-darlings, Ron Paul is not trying to throw money at you to win your vote. He has not yet and never will spew at you “bumper sticker propaganda” like a broken record. He will not try to scare you into voting for him with predictions of massive terrorist attacks. The man is full of common sense and sound character. You only need to spend a few minutes reading about his personal endeavors as a doctor, delivering over 4,000 babies, as well as looking over his voting record. Ron Paul's stance on the Iraq War has never wavered despite its lack of media appeal. This stance is something the so called front-runners are beginning to realize is much more popular with the majority of the American people than they had first calculated. It will be only a matter of time before the faux conservatives come stomping away from their current pro-occupation stances, and subtly drift toward the more rational viewpoint of Ron Paul. The point is, the big business and special interest backed clones are running rampant looking for what is going to win your vote. Meanwhile, Ron Paul, a so called second-tier candidate, will win your vote while remaining unchallenged on character, morality, and common sense. So the question is: who are you going to vote for come election time? It may be a small step in the right direction, but one day I would like to be able to look my children square in the eye and say that I fought for what is good and right in this country. I did everything I could to protect their way of life and to leave them with an America better than the one I received. Let morality be your compass. Vote Ron Paul 2008. |
